Milwaukee on Tap: An Evening of Beer History at Lakefront Brewery

May 19th, 2019

In a special session of Lakefront Brewery’s popular Beer Academy, I’ll tell the story of how Milwaukee became America’s beer capital and of how local brewers have weathered competition, Prohibition, and consolidation to make today’s city a capital of the craft movement. Jim Klisch, Lakefront’s co-founder, will follow with the the story of his family’s brewery as a craft pioneer, and then we’ll hear from Beer Academy professors Omega Burckhardt and Aimee Koehler. The evening will also include:

— a family-style charcuterie board (that’s meat and cheese, I think) for each table
— a pint of Lakefront and a shared six-pack of Lakefront brands
— a souvenir mini-snifter
— a chance to ask any of us whatever you want
