Historic Preservation in Milwaukee

This evening is a benefit for Bay View Community Center, and what better place to talk about preservation than Bay View? The neighborhood is one of the oldest in Milwaukee, and, as in most historic neighborhoods, its architectural heritage is both cherished and threatened. But I’ll be taking a broader view of Milwaukee’s preservation movement, chronicling the quest to save the fabric of our community’s past ever since the iconic North Western Railroad depot was reduced to rubble in 1968. The evening will also feature music, food, and drinks.
